"Scarti dalla fornace Teta. Nuove acquisizioni sulla produzione della ceramica locale. "

Cerreto Sannita (BN). Ceramic wasters from Teta workshop. New data about local ceramic production.
In this article the author describes the kiln discards which were collected from the dump at the workshop belonging to the Teta family in Cerreto Sannita, a well known pottery manufacturing town, especially in the 18th century. Among the kiln wasters, fragments were found that are datable to the 19th century on the basis of analogies with similar material in the local Museo Civico della Ceramica. Moreover, it was possible to identity fragments of pottery produced by Francesco Giavante, a ceramic artist who was active in the workshop in that era, and to attribute to him a flower vase and some pitchers which are in the museum. The rest of the material that was studied can be
assigned generically to the end of the 19th century - beginning of the 20th century and was probably made by Giovanni Teta.
